Graphite steel rolls are composed mainly of pearlite with spherical graphite and some carbide. Graphite steel rolls are stronger than cast iron rolls and harder than other steel rolls. The feature of graphite rolls that is better resistance to fire crack and scale adhesion.

High chromium rolls are composite rolls with high alloy steel or iron with 8%-22% Chromium content as the shell material and high strength nodular iron as the core material. Since chromium carbide M7C3 is higher in hardness than ferrous carbide, these rolls exhibit higher hardness, better toughness and extremely wear resistance than normal carbide. With the high alloy elements and special heat treatment, the matrix has the excellent comprehensive properties at high temperature.
